Default U2, "Bad", live at Wembley

I've got this on MP3, it's brilliant, but does anyone know if it was released on a CD at all?
I think it was the Live Aid concert?

Is it the one from Live Aid you have or the one from the "Wide Awake In America" EP that was recorded in Birmingham? The one at Live Aid goes on for ages cos its the one where Bono went walkabout in the audience looking for "Ladies"

My guess is it's the live version of Bad from the EP "Wide Awake in America" as suggested above.

The Wide Awake In America version of Bad one of U2's finest recordings IMO.

It's nowt that's been posted yet.

It starts with the background, and Bono saying, "We're an irish band, we come from Dublin City, Ireland. Like all cities, it has it's good, and it has it's bad............this is a song called 'Bad'".

And nearing the end of it's 11 plus minutes, it goes into versions of Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday, and that one that has the verse, "Holly came from Miami, FLA, hitchhiked her way across the USA........", by Lou Reid

Wel that's simple as that is the Live Aid performance for sure. It lasted so long they didn't have time to play Pride which I seem to rmember cheesed some members of the band off. Didn't do them much harm though

I have several Gold disc master recordings (MFSL) of U2 I've got the Joshua Tree, Unforgetable Fire, War, October and Boy.

Here's a pic of my U2 Joshua Tree Gold Disc in a case with a drumstick signed by the whole band with a painting of "The Joshua Tree"

It was a Xmas presie from my GF a few years back

It's definitely the Live Aid performance, does it fade out at the end? If it doesn't you've got a recording of the BBC radio transmission.

The TV broadcast (and hence the footage on the DVD box set) cut away from the end of that set to show Phil Collins getting on Concorde.

Give yourself a couple of days you probably could!

It's an OK album, with about 5 decent songs on, but nothing like their previous albums and it was downhill all the way from there.

I disagree... you normally find the modern concensus is that AB is the favourite album, amongst fans, following by JT

I would be amazed if AB was U2 fan's favourite album.

It may be the most popular amongst the people who started to like them after they'd heard the Joshua Tree though.

I personally like War and UF and Zooropa, but most of the polls I have read do indeed indicate AB as the favourite.

If you do a song by song comparison between JT and AB, how many songs on AB are better?

I would say One is better than With or Without You, other than that I can't think of any songs that match up.

A couple are close run things, but I'd say Joshua Tree has it about 9-2 or 10-1!

Oh, and U2's best albums imo are "The Unforgettable Fire", "The Joshua Tree" and the best ever, "Under A Blood Red Sky"

"Pop", "Zooropa" and to a lesser extent "All That you Can't Leave Behind" are best forgotten.

Rubbish; they played Wembley Stadium twice in July 1987. As I recall, they introduced 'Bad' in that way over the whole 'Unforgettable Fire' tour (later too). Its almost certainly 'Wide Awake in America' Jeff: you need to listen to it before you dismiss it...

A little off track!

U2 have just released 4 new lithographs on their website of the Joshua Tree, they're all from the albums sleeves.. $100 a pop, not bad... I've already got two of the others covers which I intend to get oak framed next year.
