well our tv is still fine but 4 years old seems everyones got lcd plasma apart from me lol so times come

i want to get a 42" and hang on wall, presuming ill have to chase out the wall to hide cables etc, idealy a nice small stand underneith fitted on wall too to put the sky box etc, ie space saving

now i also know id need a surround sound setup too as sounds crap on these tv's

so what have you got? ps im not looking to spend loads

The sky box, dvd,PS and a few other bits sit to the right of the TV as you look at it.(ya can just see them under the spiky ball thing!!!!)
They all sit on a Attacama hifi stand.
The TV is a Philips 42" plasma to get a scale on sizes etc etc..

I drink Grolsch but we started at 12noon on Saturday and didnt go to bed til 9am this morning. I knew thats how it'd turn up hence 4% lager. If Id been on the hard stuff Id have fallen before the Hatton fight. To be fair Im in the process of cleaning up and I have 3 bin bags full of Carling, Kronenberg, Fosters and Strongbow at present. Plus the Vodka and JD bottles are empty too. T'was a good night

Thanks, I'll need to take better pics at some point as those ones aren't the best and the livingroom looks more 'finished' now. Also, the pics seem to have like a slight ripple effect in them meaning the lines don't look straight - it must have something to do with the way photobucket compresses pics because I've viewed this thread on two different computers (lcd + crt) and the pics look the same.

As for trisha it was just laziness that I didn't go for the obligatory "master yoda with green lightsabre held just behind his ear" shot

i always find the ones sat above the fireplace are a bit to high in most cases, when you are sitting down you tend to be looking upwards to the screen?

this one looks fantastic IMO

if i ever stop renting and buy a place, i would love to tackle a job like this!

as it stands the current setup is on a stand at the moment

You can see the full install with pics on AVForums. This is what I want to do in my place. It looks even better at night with the background lighting!

working on mine at the moment - https://www.scoobynet.com/diy-39/652...c-project.html

the room is a bit of a tunnel. ave. 30's style semi with the lougne the rear on the party wall. the room was extended by roughly the same depth again by the previous owner. i vaulted the ceiling in the extension about 4yrs ago and started installing a cat5e network at the same time. the network is almost complete - lounge is the last room to get the treatment as I hid cables under the floor for each of the rooms when we tiled the hallyway and conservatory floors.

tv is roughly in the middle of the room, on the party wall. i'll have better pics in a week or so!
