Default Top Gear - "restoration rip-off"

So what happened to this then??

Back in series 5 the public were asked to vote for the car to be restored, and the mini won from memory. Nothing has been heard of since, surely it doesn't take 2 1/2 years to restore a mini? My mate did a ground up restoration on a cooper in his spare time in 12 months!

The public had to pay to vote in this (not that I did!), I think the name they gave the feature was very clever

Anybody know what happened to the mini?

Lol, it's not a dig at Top Gear (love the program), just seems strange that they spent so much time plugging the item every week only to make nothing of it at all in later shows

I've done some consulting at the beeb, and honestly it's such a shambles I'm not surprised that things don't pan out.. It's all good fun though

That did cross my mind a few years back...like where's the car they were supposed to restore?

That's reminded me of the Lotus Lada....'bout time they should have another bash at sooping up a bland car. Something nasty, like a Proton or a Perodua.

It did say in the owners manual that under no circumstances should bio-diesel be used. They found out the hard way

Impressive work by the mechanics. 3'ers aren't the best of cars to work on - especially the diesels.

Unless they hadn't touched it then surely it would be in a garage somewhere being worked on, not in storage?
