He probably choked when he got to Gambon and went off.

I'm sure I've already posted that line today...

I went right off Lewis hamilton the moment he deceided to move away overseas for giving the reason, and i quote "being constantly recognised and asked for autographs when going about your daily life can become quite intimidating. i just want to get away from the spotlight and where nobody recognises me".....I was so gobsmacked, it was the NATION that was behind him, willing him on to a win, the FANS pay his wages, they put him where he is today! i was disgusted and now i cant stand the little ****

The fans dont pay his wages, Ron Dennis does

I'd happily move away from this "nation" as well if I had his money.

fans buy tickets, ticket money goes to teams, teams pay drivers

i just thought his comment was a slap in the face to his fans, like i said the whole nation was willing him on to win then he turns round and says that. i've no respect for him now, weather he wins or looses next time i couldnt give a ****...i wont be watching.

GO ALONSO!!!

So you'd stay here and give G Brown 51% of all your money when you could live in Monaco and pay 10%?

Yep - that makes sense . . . NOT!

I suspect that was just a tactful answer instead of saying I don't want to live in this sh1thole of a country any more.

I think if you were in the same position that you would do exactly the same so you could have a comparatively peaceful existence.

Agree - he should have just said "its for tax reasons, it will save me a fortune" and then have the attention/being famous reason as the second reason he was doing it - no-one would have htough any less of him.

He has only properly famous for less than a year anyway!

He is a great driver - just a litttle boring and seems to take everything way too seriously - seems very calculated like he has practiced his responses to questions a million times ! Perhaps he will chill out a little in a few years.

Oh and if no fans ever turned up to the F1 races, or watched it on TV - there would not would even be an F1 season, so fans DO pay for the whole thing.

Team bosses employ drivers based on talent though, not based on whether a handful of fans will like that driver or not.

I can't imagine Ron Dennis now firing LH because he may have upset some over patriotic English men, LH will win him races and championships, and will keep their sponsors happy unless you can say that him moving away from this god forsaken nanny state will mean fans all across the world boycotting F1?

People will watch F1 whether they are fans of a particular driver or not - I like Lewis, and he proced on TG is he an ace driver, but I wont stop watching F1 if he makes an **** of himself in public, so in that way fans dont pay the wages.

I'd imagine he pay a lot less than 51%, unless he's got really poor accountants.

Agreed - Can you imagine what a driver with Hamiltons talent and Eddie Irvine's personality would do?

Would make the Beckham gravy train look like a second rate campaign

He's from Chavenage. You can't blame him for moving away!

Did you expect him to do a bit of stand up comedy? Isn't his consummate driving skill good enough? He really is only very young at the moment and his cakculated approach is to be admired in the way he approaches his F1 driving. And he did pretty well coping with the idiotic questions that Clarkson was throwing at him.

I am ready to bet that what he said was the main reason for moving to Switzerland too.
