trackday or skid pan?
Hi all
I'm thinking it's about time I did a track orientated day as I haven't been on one for a while. I'm keeping my options open but would welcome your recommendations.
Options:-
1. take my own car (350z) onto a wet skid pan and have some fun without killing the tyres.
2. do a few laps in a Porsche or similar.
I quite like the idea of option 1 but costs appear similar to option 2. I guess it boils down to time on track?
I've always fancied a go in a 911 but would like it to be a Turbo or GT3. I noticed Donnington Park do a 911 Turbo. £125 for 3 laps.
Some other place advertised a 911 with GT3 "kit". Yeh, clever text but that'll be a Carrera in a GT3 bodykit.
As well as above does anyone have any recommendations through personal experiences?
Thanks
Nick

Have you seen https://www.scoobynet.com/track-days...ining-day.html?
More than just a skid pan and I'm sure that learning how to wet drift in a 350 will raise a grin.

Not really what you are after but I am buying my lad's birthday present which will be a day out at Goodwood with morning on a skid pan and afterwards 3 laps in a Ferrari. This is £120.
This is a supervised learning experience but I expect you want a more fun session
I am hoping it will teach him some road skills and am just hoping it doesn't make him feel over confident and just drive faster! dl

Take the 350Z on a trackday. More money but loads more track time. Three laps in a Ferrari will be over in seconds.
Choose the track carefully (Bedford is my fave) and you can minimise the risk. And if it's raining you'll not wear the tyres much.
