That is cool, the speed at which they setup stuff again is amazing. I just not imagine living in a country so overcrowded, must be awful to actually need to live like that
Anyway, call me a bad person if you like. But while watching that, I just could not help sniggering at the mental image of an Intercity 125 blasting through. Just imagine how much stuff would blasted away by its shockwave

Sorry, but I thought that Thai train was an express . . . but then I am comparing it with the First Great Western Paddington-Twyford "express" I catch most evenings!!

What's so unsafe about it Micky
The trains only run at about 10km/hr, and they give horn a good blast as they arrive
Honestly, Walking through there is actually far safer than walking down the street, at least there are no maniacs on scooters
Luminous, unlike the UK, Thailand is not particularly over-populated, but the markets are always cramped and crowded like that, they like it that way

Everything is relative Micky
Like I said walking down the road is far riskier in this part of the world, where at anyt one moment you are in the sights of at least a dozen nutters on scooters
Half of whom are likely to be on the phone, whilst the remainder will probably be too busy talking to their pillion to pay any attention to where they are going
Over 60% of those killed on the roads over here die on bikes, and I would say at least 80% of those were the cause of the accident
Whereas, as far as I know, nobody ever gets run over by trains cutting through markets

Like I said, it's relative, the train gives them a warning it's coming, and goes slow enough for them to get out of the way. By the standards of this part of the world, that's safe
BTW "cutting" was probably not the best term to use, lets face it, the rails dictate where the train goes (most of the time), it can hardly take a loop around the stalls can it

This Thailand mate, nothing is ever early
In the highly improbable event that the driver should find himself (even slightly) ahead of schedule, he would just stop, have a quick sleep, and getting going again when he's safely back behind
The passengers will never notice, because they're all asleep too
Thais live for three things, and three things alone, Eating, Sleeping and Partying
