Default UK Nukes - Not staring in Wargames

No launch codes on these babies, just a bike lock!

BBC NEWS | Programmes | Newsnight | British nukes were protected by bike locks

That whole business is just pure tabloid journalism style exaggeration.

Practically speaking, an awful lot more had to be done to be able to detonate that weapon as a nuke and when it was in use the "two man" principle applied right up to weapon release!

Our nuclear deterrent organisation during the Cold War was run along extremely safe lines and there never was an example of a mistake being made in all those years.

Personally I prefer to have the nukes control in the hands of the military than the incompetent fcukwits in charge of this country. Hopefully some renegade submarine crew will fire one towards no 10 downing street

I fail to see what all the fuss is about.... it's not like you could've walked up and set one off

You would've needed a 2 pence piece to unscrew 2 large screws first

Like Leslie says ...... it's news media hype and drama

It needed at least 2 pennies and everyone knows that Civil Servants didn't have 2 pennies to rub together!!
