My mate owes his gym £1000!!!
He recently joined a gym and he went tonight to be told he owes them £1000. Turns out he was a member when he was 16 and left without paying the remainder of his contract. They've left his debt open and with interest its racked up to £1000. 
Think I'd tell them to do one!

Do we have a statute of limitations for debt collection in the UK? There is the Limitation Act from 1980 which applies to civil cases, but not paying a debt until the limitation act kicks in is considered to be fraud, which isn't civil

I know that in Scotland 16 year olds can legally get credit but they can argue that they weren't aware of the implications of getting credit so it will then be cancelled out. This is why banks don't allow under 18's to get credit
