Default Buying from a car dealer

Buying a new car from a dealer, all should be ok and the ad said three months warranty so I was wondering what he is obligated to and what for the warranty should take ?

Warranty could be pants i.e. max £1000 claim - no good if engine or gearbox goes pop.

Worth getting one of those new "serious problem warranties" that only cover major faults with engine and transmission.

check trading standards etc. as I'm sure gearbox etc. is covered if you buy from a dealer.

Apparently it has a Motor-Plan Platinum warranty included for 3 months, better than the Fiat Coupe, 3 months parts only, Chartoak in Wilmslow, no help whatsover when it started using oil. Three months is enough to get me over the inital phase of being sure its ok, after that I wont be doing many miles and should be confident in its reliability, though the newever Saabs seem to have more than their fair share of electrical problems.

yeah, that's why I bought my 9-3 from a Saab dealer - nearly everything was covered including the SID pixels etc

Funnily enough WWSD, I had the SID pixel problem on my unwarrantied 9-3, just took it apart and got busy with some heat and a bit of thin rubber, went from 50% pixels to nearly 100%, crappy design really.

Clare, After thinking I wanted a Clio 182 I bought this as the Clio didnt really float my boat, funny, was looking at a 330i at the time ?
