Default away for snow at christmas...

hey all, me and the missus are looking at going away over christmas an are looking for snow, anybody got ideas or have been them selves? was looking at bottom end of germany, garmisch way. anyone else done it?

Going to Ischgl, Austria in mid-Jan, just like we did last year . Plenty of snow with sufficient cannons for the parts that mother nature didn't reach. Expect it'll be okay at Chrissy too.

Here's the website. We'll be going with the Dutch RAC as they have a creche facility. Our youngest will only be 8 months and that's a better option that not going.

I've been to Ischgl about 6 times in the last 12 years. Car-free resort with quite some Tirolean charm, good pistes for the intermediate and reasonable apres-ski too. Downside is that the wealthy Ruskies have found it and are slowly turning it into Borat-ville.
