Thumbs up Had one of those great days today.....

...................you know that huge sense on acheivement you get, when you do things you previously thought impossible.

Been out to corby skatepark today, they have a foam pit essentially a big take-off ramp into surprisingly a pit of foam blocks.

Been riding bmx for years but struggling to progress past a certain point, been to corby before and bottled out of backflips and only managed a few sketchy tailwhips.

Today i threw caution to the wind (if feels very unnerving being upside-down on a bike) and got them both done. There not perfect yet but i should have them cracked by next week. And then its onto the resi-jump (normal takeoff rubber covered foam landing )

Adrenalines an awesome invention

No their tyre marks, some on the roof as well

There are a few slightly disturbing dark red stains where it looks like puddles have been mopped up all over the place though

Tbh i think the dangers an integral part.

Without wanting to p1ss on your cornflakes, what's dangerous about landing upside down in a pile of foam on a child's bicycle?

The fact that I would manage to get myself on all even remotely sharp components on the bike when I cocked it up. Good stuff, your mad, but still good stuff.

Nothing, but its the place to start and you never know you have it perfected until you try it on the concrete. Then it becomes dangerous

Fair play, looks like fun though, always something I wanted to try and do that, didnt think they did foam landing places to try stuff out with

Ah...the concrete element spices it up somewhat..good point !.

I'd wear a rubberhead's hot-cross-bun hat and elbow pads as a minimum.

I'd advise, from a health and safety point of view, that the OP stays well clear of concrete for the time being.

So would I. Although with more practice I reckon he could master it

No bother. Thats the whole point. Its a start, tbh i`d rather have my first attempts into a pile of foam rather than a snapped back, big injuries, etc, through landing on wood and concrete, will be back there next week to practise lots more to get them hopefully minus the foam in the not too distant future.
Spose Hamilton stepped into a F1 car at 6 years old too, eh?

Oh and Odds_on the only videos taken, were from the start of the day, By the end I was consitantly landing the flips in a rideaway position

[smartarse] Used to try all sorts of tricks on our local BMX track years ago. The 1st go at a table top saw me in hospital, the second go only hurt for a few days. Third time I had it nailed [/]

Stick 'sims' on your skateboard and go down the runway at the ROM skatepark and post a vid of that. We didn't have the abililty back then to film each other braking bones/loosing 95% of our skin.

Go on, show us what its looks like again.

Dunno about that - I think the possibility of an upside down concrete landing would be good motivation to keep your head back

hmmmm..... familiar memories. The one that caused most damage in our local bmx track was trying to jump the 4ft fence off the side of one of the camel humps. The drop on the other side was about 10 ft. Didn't look that far and the (flat concrete) landing only hurt a bit on a bmx. Then my mate tried it on his grifter. I swear he left a hole in the concrete
