He may be building the sets.
If he's thinking of doing the electrical w*rk as well, he ought to get a grip.
Ok, Sonic, I've had me fun, I'll stop it now.

The Thing was made at a time when horror films didn't have to watch how much blood was on screen and risk an 18 rating. ( Rollerball IIRC is an 18 which just shows the rating system back then)
18 ratings these days just means a large cut in profits as it misses out on the a huge portion of ticket sales.
It might be OK as long as they don't dumb it down to get a lower rating.
Watched it when I was about 7 or 8 (ratings be damned!). Just had to watch it during the day Thought it was awesome then and it still is. I would even go so far as to say its better than Alien (Aliens these day are nothing more than cannon fodder) they've been watered down over the years.

...another remake, almost word for word and scene for scene.... which would you prefer to watch?
or
Although the older film may be a classic, I'd pitch for Bob DeNiro every time

Too true, a great si-fi horror and one of the few remakes better than the original - The thing from outer space which initself if a good film and one of the best of the 50's si-fi flicks.
In my top twenty films of all time, Kurt Russel also features in another of my top twenty - Big trouble in little China

Yes and its totally different Steve! Ex army comrades, a heist in the dark and a cliff hanging end. Bar the odd name, the location and robbing a casino its totally different.
