Will be wanting to fly to Oz (Melbourne) in Mid March for 3 weeks (2 adults).

Am wanting recommendations of good sites to scour for cheap flights.

Is it cheaper to buy from an Oz site or a UK site (I've only searched on travel.com.au Oz site so far and it is more expensive than the uk price.

So far my best price is about £700 return each, and I really don't want to blow 1.4k before we even start!

Firstly, you can't buy the tickets through travel.com.au. You have to buy the tickets in the country of departure. I'm in the same boat, except that I am looking to buy a couple of one way tickets for early April.

Assuming you are flying from heathrow, and leaving on the 18/3, returning on the 8/4, how does £525 pp sound (plus £50 taxes) ?

They have the best prices that I have found by far.

Thanks for the advice re: buying the tickets. I guess I wouldn't have tried travel.com.au anyway as they were more expensive, but you saved me some time!

Also, you've saved me £400, so thanks again!

Ring Trailfinders, they are specialists for cheap flights to Oz. We used them last summer to get out to see the Lions and visit my sister-in-law. We went London to Sydney to Cairns. Cairns to Perth. Perth to Melbourne. Adalaide to Sydney. Syndey to London. Total was about £900 each for 2 adults.
