After 36 years of not seeing the illuminations we happened to be passing at an appropriate time yesterday up the M6, so we thought we would drop in and check it out. What the fek is going on there. My mate has a boil on his bum which is a squillion times more entertaining. It seems there were about 60000 people who wanted to see Dr Who flicking the switch....... except all you could see (and hear) was a half hearted countdown followed by a couple of dozen lights flashing up the tower and about half of the rest of the illuminations coming on. For the next hour I walked the promenade with wifey and two kids and I was offered sex at least 14 times. Did we do something wrong or is Blackpool just a few lights and a better than average chance of a dirty f**k?

They were hanging around in pairs and didn't seem to be off to any clubs in a hurry. To be fair, it wasn't on the promenade, but a couple of streets back.
