Any ideas on how to trace people????
I'm after a little advice if possible.
I've just found out via google that my grandmother died in December 2004.
I won't bore you with details too much, but the family fell out a few years ago and they cut myself and my parents off completely.
I would like to speak with one uncle who tried to keep in touch (but would have lost everything - so too speak).
I've tried 192.com, 118, friends/genes reunited but too no avail.
Does anyone know of any other search engines I could use to try and locate him? All I know is his full name, wife and kids name and the area he lived in last - nothing else - I'm quite happy to ring everyone in the phone book with the same initial/name as he has.
Any suggestion/ideas would be gratefully appreciated - got to figure out how to tell my dad the news at some point today too.
Thanks in advance
Kirsty

192.com uses the electoral roll and so if you cannot find him there then he has either emigrated, been banged up, not filled in his electoral roll (192 will give the last five years) or died at least five years ago.
When you search if they are in the system 192 will show a result although you will have to buy credits to find the detail. You will also have to pay extra for the historical electoral roll details.
I have a lot of credits with 192 and am also a subscriber of Ancestry.com which gives me full access to the GRO registers up to 2005. If you would like me to search then pm me and give me the details.
