Default Florida Car Hire

I'm going to florida with a group of mates on the 15th September. We're going to hire cars.

2 of us are going to get a mid sized car between us.

Does anyone know of the best deal available? Or the best way to go about rental??

Best deal i've found so far is $270 for 2 weeks. It seems pretty good. ?

Car Hire - Car for Rental - Holiday Car Hire | Dollar Rental Cars

Thumbs up from me all the way...

Alternative is Budget

Which airport mate.

Check that really cheap deals include all the required insurances. Best bet it Platinum or "All Inclusive" cover.

Ive been looking at enterprise... they seem to be the cheapest so far.

$270 + an extra $5 per day for 1 additional driver which is a pain!

you need to get a shuttle from the airport to the centre. I presume it isn't far though

Are you getting these quotes as a UK citizen ?
USA car rental sites default to being a US citizen, who get different rates.

Yeah just check there is not a "I am a US citizen" box checked.
Most major sites quote in £'s when set for UK citizens.

OK, MCO is a great airport. But, 2 issues. One, you have to get your bags twice, once before immigration and then afterwards. And depending on when you land, you could have up to 3 hours waiting to pick up your car. I'd get a taxi to your hotel, then return early the next morning to get your car.

Whe I arrived at Sanford a few weeks ago, we had claimed baggage and cleared immigration within 45 mins.

Get the car sorted there and then, and start enjoying your holiday. Car collection took about 10 mins at the terminal.

Hear what you're saying Snazy but he's going to MCO. When I went there the queue for the dollar desk was 2hrs 45 mins. Maybe not an issue with a group of lads, but with small kids its not fun.

Of course, it only took me 7 mins and I was in my car.

Anyway, as I'm feeling very helpful today, here's the details of Dollars Kissimmee office.

Fair play mate, one thing I did find though......

Dollar, being one of the larger car suppliers to fly drive companies.
If you make a booking direct with Dollar, and not with a tour company.... to the front of the queue you go

Try the prices on US Rent A Car to see how they compare. You can choose from most of the different rental companies, although I prefer Alamo because you get to choose your own car from within the hire category. The price they quote is the price you pay, no hidden extras at the rental desk.

To avoid waiting at the rental desk, send one of your party down there as soon as you arrive in baggage reclaim, that way they will be at the front of the line.

having just retunred from Florida today & flying out from MCO we used Alamo {for a change} but have used Dollar a couple of times, TBH not much differs from them, you pay in advance, they ask you if you want to upgrade {the barsts, even offered us cars not on the internet as we had the SUV sorted already} was tempted by the Hummer

Anyway, we have never q'd very long any time picking up the car most was probably 30mins it all depends on if you are using the most popular renter where every one else is going to be using too.

Oh & as Snazy says SUV's are the way to go in Florida

FYI it was 95 F when we left yesterday evening & had been in the 100's on and off, 2 lots of 30min rain in a fortnight, was looking forward to seeing some back home but its decided to be sunny today LOL.

That reminds me no sleep in too many hours I should get some.

Sorry, Mug I think you have me mixed up with someone of a single figured IQ, who you think you can talk to like a pikey.

We all have opinions, mine is I prefer Florida, Davenport, Apopka, to be precise. You dont like it, thats your opinion.

My other opinion is to mis-quote you on this "North London is my UK base . .Believe me . .It's a bit boring and a bit of a sh*t hole "

As for South London, again, nice of you to have an opinion. As for agreement.... Im not considering leaving cos I love it so much am I
But given the choice of North or South..... I would choose South anyday

Opinions, aint they great

I think the cheapskate was referring to a Range Rover and not a Rolls Royce.
