I know how you feel pslewis. For years I thought when people said does that include VAT? I just brought them a vodka & mixer and pocketed the difference. Lived like a king for as long as I can remember, until the real VAT man turned up

You are old so it will have to be the Jag or the Merc. No-one should buy a Lexus - it is just a price tag without the value. If you get a Z4 after your 40th birthday it will look like you have bought the car to offset your impotence and baldiness. Go for the Jag and everyone knows your are impotent and baldy, but at least you can travel in comfort

Its all a big marketing hoodwink. Lexus cars are crap if you actually took time to delve into the finer details. Toyota reliability and build quality is also going down the pan. Its all a con

No, dont answer, i do not care anyway.
Toyota and indeed Lexus build has been on a par with Mercedes for a long time now.

yes on par with mercedes in being dismally poor contrary to popular belief. BMW is following that trend. And what do BMW, mercedes and toyota/lexus got in common?
Each of them are the most profitable mainstream car manufacturers in the world per vehicle.

My dad has owned Lexus cars since the LS400 landed on these shores about 10 years ago or more... Now on his fifth (I think) and LS 430, half the price of the "equivalent" S Class merc and there's not a Jag that can come close regards luxury and quality (I own a jag, which I love, but I am man enough to accept the LS is and always has been astounding quality).
As for the acronym, despite having driven the bl00dy things for donkeys years, I didnt know that... Nice one...

Does your dad enjoy his rebadged toyota mercedes and bmw wannabe vehicle. The lexus is good at copying and thats about it. Lexus never comes up with the complete package though always lacking in one place or another. Its because they are too busy waiting to see what the germans come out with, and then add a extra dial, gear, airbag or speaker and then market their vehicle as being superior
