Now, that's a funny thing!
Following a vauxhall Police Car ....... brake lights - the high brake light came on slightly before the lower brake lights - what's that about then?
Is it a Police thing or standard on Vauxhalls??

Trolling again pete?
Ring your local cop shop and ask to speak to the duty traffic inspector..
Tell him what you saw, and he'll clarify what the reasoning is. (If any)

Just a pointer, happens on all cars using LED high levels and standard bulb brake lights.
LED's react faster, and illuminate quicker, which is why they are rapidly becoming the "bulb" of choice for various signals. As well as longer life and brighter.
Even the Scooby does it. When your bored in traffic next and in front of a bus, try it
Im suprised someone of your stature is asking such a simple question

Seems obvious to me, the wires to the lower lights are longer than to the higher one.
Electricity does have a finite speed you know, but as a nuclear scientist I would have expected you to know that!

Maybe the best way to settle any dispute would be a bathchair race on Eastbourne pier

Yes but they would have to be OE rocket straps and a standard rocket fuel pump

LOL at Les with the longer wires and the Electric taking a noticable difference in time to the human eye to travel an extra 500mm
As for the fight - I, too, would put my money on Les winning ..... he's bigger than me (he'll appreciate that remark!)
He will confirm that fighting a big Bass together would be rather more entertaining than racing zimmer frames along Eastbourne seafront

I thought my explanation of the brake lights was perfectly logical really. My eyes are so fast!!!
I'll take him on at any track he nominates, I know them all If he is going to have a rocket on his wheel chair then I want a Bristol Siddeley Olympus. I am used to them-should burn him off. Actually if he wants a pier then Brighton would be good-we could do it on the motor bikes in the arcade!
How can you say I am bigger when I am vainly trying to lose it to be able to get into my uniform again for the Goodwood Revival meeting. I think I have lost that one though. There is always the ladies in stockings with suspender belts to see though-bet you remember those Pete
A big bass is a great experience but it does not compare with the 7lb+ sea trout I caught at Totnes in the middle of the night! That was excitement.
Have you thought about those kite surfing jobbers Pete? You can hang on because it takes your weight and you can do loops etc. Easy to strap the zimmer frame on your back for walking back up the beach! I get so much pleasure just imagining that
