Best Ipod Speakers
Does anyone recommend any good Ipod speaker, or can link to good reviews?
Whilst I'm sure a lot of people will reply Bose, I firmly believe these to be a triumph of marketing and bought by suckers.

Have to laugh at this thread ..... and more fittingly, just how many times I've heard this argument over the last 4 years.
Have a mate who works in a specialist HI-FI store
James-Morrow Hi Fi Audio Visual and Home Entertainment Systems
Chatted to him for a while when I was looking for a replacement for my original cheapy i-logic speakers ......
He wouldn't say anything against the BOSE opposition (the 2 that I've posted in the above post with the Amazon links)
All he said was 'come into the shop and listen for yourself in the soundbooth'......
Yeah the BOSE alternatives are cheaper but there was no competition IMHO

Now thats a helpful post.
If they really are the best then, I guess I'll stump up the cash.......but some of there stuff is not class leading.
Proof - the wave radio? lots of reviews saying it's not actually that good.

Honestly, I was also so certain that there was no way I was going to part with £250 for a good set of these speakers and like yourself was firmly 'against' the BOSE marketing machine......so much so that I deliberated/wasted 2 years searching
I initially thought the irhythm ones were pretty good and then I listened to the BOSE....as previously mentioned, there was no competition..
Only gripe re the BOSE is that the default volume setting for when they are initially switched on, can be a bit too loud if you aren't ready for it
Other than that, brilliant
One other thing to add is:
the amount of people (myself inclusive) who are intially put off the BOSE as they tend to hear it in the middle of a busy and vast department store, they then compare it against the cheaper alternatives and for the difference in cash they see no need to spend the xtra due to the indistinguishable performance ....
Try them both in a quality HI-FI sound booth room (set up to resemble a living room, with warm furnishings etc.....) and then hear the difference

Unless you get independant specialist reveiws, no one is happy to admit they spent £250 and can't tell the difference between something that cost half as much....
Reminds me of the bumpsteer mod, the Eibach springs etc.
Not one person admit to saying "you know what, I couldn't tell the difference"
..for what it's worth I've had them (Eibachs) fitted on 2 cars and can not tell the difference.

I reviewed the options BEFORE buying and would have gladly paid £100-£150 less but I honestly thought the sound was THAT much better
I also ordered via the states and got it for £175
and TBH I didn't notice much handling difference with the Eibachs on my MY01 but the Geometry set up did dramtically improve the car

I have the Monitor Audio i-deck which is great. However, the absence of information on the i-deck site at i-deck and the complete absence of the product on the Monitor Audio site suggests they're not doing it any more.
What I really want is the Fatman i-tube valve amp though:
Fatman iTube amplifier | Reg Hardware
I think Arcam also do some iPod connectivity stuff
