How can i improve the reception on my AM radio.
Hi,
I have a technics hi-fi separate but radio 5-live has lots of interference. Is there any way i can improve the reception. It has a built in loop antenna.
I dont want to spend £170 for a Denon tuner when i only listen to radio 5 (football)

Isn't Radio 5 on FM rather than AM? As always it is down to the aerial. If your reception area is poor then the loop aerial probably just is not good enough. If it is FM then a dedicated FM aerial on the roof might do it or even a piece of wire strung out along the garden. You would probably would have to experiment with the length of the wire and its positioning for best reception

I did not know it was on MW and yes it would be AM modulation.. Well as I said a wire aerial would probably improve matters significantly, easier to adjust for medium wave too. Hope that is helpful.
