Do those who subscribe to a magazine usually recieve their pulbication early, on time or late?
Got one as part of my birthday present and although the mags on general release today and I can but it in 2 mins from WH Smiths they've said it will arrive by the weekend.
Poor excuse or are they just lazy?? Or both??
Experiences please?

I usually receive Classic Rock, Metal Hammer and Outdoor Photography within a day or two of them being released in the UK which is pretty good going I reckon.

I subscribe to `Evo` and `F1 Racing` magazines.
Both arrive before they hit the shops.
Remember with all the Royal Mail strike action, some deliveries are bound to be screwed up. Only once did `Evo` not arrive (Royal Mail lost it) so I phoned up the office and the dispatched another copy straight away.

It depends.
The whole distribution system is geared to speed, if only because printers do not want mountains of magazines filling their factory floors. They want them out. So do distribution houses. And subscription agencies who usually handle mail-outs on behalf of publishers.
But there are numerous things that can get in the way, not least geography and knock-on delays from other magazines, such as those with a free pair of flip-flops attached Then there's labelling and packing at the subscription house, not to mention the post.
So depending of various factors, it is quite possible to get your subscription copy early, or for it to be on sale in the shops first by a day or three.
On the other hand, daily papers and weeklies pay extra for a guaranteed smooth path through distribution and delivery.
Richard.

My Evo turns up when it turns up. I couldnt care when it hits the shops.
Its not the end of the world if someone reads it before I can, I enjoy the mag all the same.
