Bill Gwynne - Subaru Mintex Course
Doing the Mintex Course at Bill Gwynne's courtesy of SN on Saturday, (Thankyou very much Simon )
Has anyone any experience of the day, and what to expect ? Their website doesn't show many pics of the cars or the course..
Also, is the food any good, or do I need to pack some extra?

I bought MrsD a full day course at Gwynne's a couple of years ago, half a day in a Mk2 Escort and half a day in a classic WRX. Both cars were pretty well specced and very well prepared, and the instructor was very good
Wifey went from timidly Driving Miss Daisy to pulling full bore 3rd gear 4WD powerslides in less than 4 hours
The day we went the food was pretty good too, and there's and endless supply of coffee and tea Even for those only watching

I did the Mintex full day in a Group N Impreza three years ago and it was excellent fun I was terrified to start off with especially as I was the only girl on the course and thought I would show myself up but, after giving it everything I'd got came second at the end and told that my lines were the best of the day. I'm still chuffed about that Anyway the kid that beat me was only 17 and was used to racing so I had no chance really He won a bottle of fizzy for his efforts.
The course itself is just a gravelly ex airfield with lots of tyres to mark out the course (which I managed NOT to hit ) and although isn't a full blown forest stage is enough if it's your first time in a rally car, at least there's nothing serious like trees to hit
The food and drink was in good supply and was also excellent Various members of my family have also done the course and really enjoyed it.
We're off down to Wales this week for two days at the Higgins Forest Experience where Bob will be getting a MK II Escort very sideways in their forest stage - he's bricking it!
Just remember to enjoy yourself whilst you're there, it's easy to forget when you're concentrating really hard There is no feeling on earth like that of power sliding a rally car round on gravel, it ROCKS!!
