How does the first case arise?
Does the virus lie dormant somewhere and just spring up after a few years or perhaps caught from an infected calf imported into UK??

I think the first case in 2001 was attributed to infected meat imported from from outside the UK

Not good news for anyone this - if it spreads then food prices are going to be WELL up - they're already saying the flooding will result in increased prices as so many harvests were destroyed.

This is really bad news. We have to hope it can be contained or the farms will suffer and the economy will take a big hit.

i did hear somewhere that its cattle imported from africa.
