Usernames - Seem to say so much
Noticed recently that those who use their own names seem to be the ones who actually contribute useful content to this website, whereas those who hide behind random names (and change them often) are complete stalking weirdos.
Not only do many of them seem to watch over SNers, they also don't have the guts to use a real name in case someone finds out who they are.
Every forum seems to have them, every forum is ruined by them.
So to all those who use their real first AND second name - Your the best posters here!

Well, I dont use my second name on here but it wouldnt be hard to find if you wanted too.

There does seem to be a few 'returning types' lately.... you know the ones... the newbies with 2/3 posts that dive straight into NSR....

Infract - I clearly only use my first name (sort of) so don't consider myself a top contributor!

There are and have been some 'users' that dont use their name on the internet but have been very helpful in the past, and them that still post here still do 
Dont think it is anything to do with whether you use your real name or not, how do you know people who use a first name and last name that it is their real name

Sonic - clearly there are exceptions.
I've just noticed that most of the really good posters on here use a "proper" name - be it real or not.
The sly little gits who constantly dig at others hide behind spurious user names and do a fantastic job of infuriating people with something useful to say.
I consider using a dodgy user name and then going on the offensive to be completely and utterly sad and something that really does ruin internet forums such as these.

Going back to your comments about those who crave anonymity.
I know of at least one person on here who was demoted and on the verge of losing their job following their unsuccesfully entering a battle of wits with another poster. They don't contribute here anymore
Another poster who admitted to an unhealthy interest in explosives here and ended up going to gaol for it. Some people believe as a direct result of his confessions on this forum.
Not to mention the guy who ended up being the victim of a frenzied attack following an argument on a chat forum.
There are loads of nutcases out there and if you have opinions they don't like and they fail to 'win' the argument their impotence/rage can lead them to lash out in the real world. Pathetic but true.

I think you're rather making the assumption that the names people post under are their actual names....... I'd be interested to know how I've ruined the forum.....
More and more employers these days do web searches on your name prior to employing you - and some whilst you're in employment. Personally I'd rather keep my full name out of forums like this to allow myself a complete gap between work and personal life.
Perhaps people who use their realy names just have a very poor imagination....?

Its all down to the individual NOT the username
It is true that a number of users do hide behind aliases purely to troll etc, but they do have other accounts using made up names also
Some of the made up named users can and have been very helpful but have also been nasty trolls too using the same name
