California.
Long shot, but I'm hoping SN can come through. Taking the family, kids will be 9 and 6, to California, but don't fancy 3 weeks of hotel rooms. I'm really looking for small self contained apartments, 2 bedrooms, small living area and kitchen etc, in LA, San Diego and San Francisco.
Trouble is, I can't find anywhere that does this sort of accommodation.
Anyone done this sort of trip?

Haven't been for a while but always used to use 'Sommerfield Suites' places. They have what you want, they do supply brekkie if you want but otherwise you're on your own. Oh, they also supply beer (not free!) in the evnings if you're about.
Not been for over 10 years though so things may well have changed. And the spelling may be slightly out ....
Otherwise, hope that helps!

Don't know of any that have 2 bedrooms, but Embassy Suites Embassy Suites Hotels - Hilton Hotels have one bedroom with separate lounge including bed settee and kitchenette. Pretty good - they used to have free drinks from 6 to 7 pm and buffet breakfast.
