Vacuum cleaner Qs: a) bagless and b) Philips?
Have to buy a new vac. Not interested in most UK models which are designed for carpets, as 98% of my floor is parquet or tiled.
I'm looking through various models which offer special parquet heads, and I found a Nilfisk bagged model for 80quid. But something tells me bagless is better, and I've now found a Philips bagless for about 150quid.
Anyone care to comment on the bagged vs bagless debate, and whether or not Philips (bagless) vacs are particularly good (or awful)?
BTW I've seen a number of threads on here, and they boil down to Dyson is excellent, Dyson is crap, Sebo/ Miele are excellent. AFAIAC, Dyson is too expensive, the other two don't do bagless parquet.
Thanks

I've got a bagless Dyson that I want rid of. It sucks ok but not brilliantly, the cord's NEVER retracted properly, the collapsible wand is a design nightmare as it collapses at the slightest wrong move and it's as thick as an elephant's leg, it gives you static shocks, and it cost TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY QUID!
I now have a Henry with a lovely smiley face on it, it cost about a hundred quid and it's MINT.

That was my best Shark Man impression.
Only wimmins should use hoovers There ought to be a moulded grip on them that is only comfortable to small-fingered hands.
BTW, the Henry sucks light rubble up with no bother at all.
84, don't they do WR1 colour on the scoody avatar thing?

Had a couple of bagless Dysons in the past and their performance tailed off rapidly. I found myself taking it apart a fair bit and pushing through fluff etc manually, with a bendy curtain rail. A complete ballache!
Now we use a Phillips bagged thingy BUT have bought a re-usable bag that you just empty and replace annually. Best of both worlds me thinks.
It was just over £200, 3 years ago, and still sucking like a girl on a first date.
It's also a lighter vacuum than the Dysons ever were.

My personal experience;
Dyson = Crap - costly and filter blocks within seconds if you pick up any fine dust like after sanding polyfilla.
Miele = Not too Bad - Very expensive and pain in the **** to pull around if non upright.
Henry= Best Vacumn Ever! - cheap, reliable and does exactly what it should!

Quite a good idea, when you vacuum you can also wash the floor with floor wipes at the same time. Ideal if you have a parquet type floor.
Just a thought
