Never going to the cinema again
As I was at a loose end tonight, I decided to see the latest installment of Harry Potter.
It is the last time I will ever go to a cinema again ever.
There was only me, and it cost me about 16 quid for a ticket, sweets and a drink. I would hate to think whats its like for a family of 4
Needless to say, the seats uncomfortable, the PA was way to loud and the screen image was poo.
To put this is comparison, a DVD will cost me the same amount, and I can watch it over and over again, and I can watch it in High def.
Added to that the bonus of not having kids around who for some unknown reason decide to talk through the good bits and stay quiet as mice through the detritus.
And don't get me started on the smell of popcorn! ewwwwwwwww..
If I'm there on a date, all I can say is I better be getting bloody laid afterwards.

to be expected really....falling audiences due to DVD's, pirate copies and microwaveable popcorn
Those Cinemas that are still in business need to get their cash somehow

Agreed - definately too loud! - especially the commercials - often find myself wincing with aural discomfort...
- abit cheaper 'ooop north' though less than £5 a ticket!

If/when a good film does come out this year (has been the worst I can remember with only Die Hard 4.0 standing out) we pay £4.95 and go on a Wednesday for the BOGOF from Orange, which offsets the £3.85 for popcorn Still love the spectacle of the cinema, even though I have an AV system at home, but we only ever go midweek, early in the day and outside of the brats prison breaks, and never in the first week or two of anything major

I disagree actually, throw in a meal before hand and a good film and you've the recipe for a great night out.
Its not just about going to see the film, its the social experience.

I do like the atmosphere of going to the cinema, but you just have to avoid getting food there. It has always cost far too much. Relax, stretch the night out. Have food before or after, it will cost less, be nicer and make the evening last longer
