Given the recent warnings about the problems associated with Windows Plug and Play, people may want to look at http://grc.com/UnPnP/UnPnP.htm to turn this feature off.

 

n.b. this refers to universal plug and play not just the std pnp for PCI cards/printers etc.

Everybody who has an internet connecteion get thee a personal firewall and good AV and you can mitigate some of the MS "features".
