Unplug the camera and check the Belkin USB card is working first of all - do this by going into control panel > system > device manager and looking down the list for the USB hub. Click on it and go into propteries and see everything is working ok.

Gareth
Done that too, it found problems with USB root hub, it said "the NTKERN.VXD device loader for this device could not load the device driver"
It then said that the best driver is already installed, so I reinstalled it to find an error code 1FB

can anyone help me

If you're not getting a response from the camera when you plug it into the PC, you might want to look in the paper for somewhere you can take the machine to, to get it looked at.

I'd do it myself for you, but I'm in the North East, your in Wales and the sheep would be too much of a distraction for me.

I have had the exact same error message and what a performance.

I posted on here about it, but the search is still off I think.

I am racking my brains to remember what the cause and effect and cure were. Bear with me.

First off, is the Windows 98 you have Windows98SE?

It should be to have the full USB support.

Try searching the net using Google and look for NTKERN.vxd

I'm still racking my brains.

I have a digital camera, but it wasn't that which upset the apple cart!

Grrrrrr, can't remember. I'll keep trying.

no no, u can get the USB supplement for win98 off microshafts site, do a search for USB adddon or supplement. Hell u can run semi-proper USB on win95osr2 if u need to.

The USB addon might even be on the win98 CD iirc. Maybe not.

I've just bought a canon ixus V2 and I'm trying to link it to my 6 year old PC which had windows 95 originaly but has been updated to windows 98. After installing a Belkin USB 2-port PCI card, and installing the two canon software disks I connected my camera to my PC but nothing happens. It should install the TWAIN driver automatically. It says in the software guide that my computer should have been preinstalled with windows 98, is this true? and must I buy a new PC to use this camera or is there another solution?

very confused

Dewi
