I've had the Morgan Stanley platinum one for the last few years, which did pay 1%, but its now only 1% for the first 2grand per year, then 0.5% so not great.
I've just applied for the Sainsburys Bank platinum card which is 0% on purchases for 10 months, so assuming the credit limit is high this should work out a lot better than getting cashback on my other.

You don't transfer balances onto cash back cards. The interest rates are usually quite high. Its sole use if for you to spend on it, pay off in full at the end of the month, and eventually get the cash back.
If you're not intending to pay it off in full every month the get a different card with a low interest rate.

You have the wrong end of the stick methinks. We're talking about credit cards that give you a % back for everything you buy with it. For example Egg Money, spend £100, get rebated £1 (i.e. 1%). No brainer to have one if you pay off the balance in full each month. Got about £150 back from Egg last year

Thanks for all the info, I've actually applied for an American Express Platinum Cashback card, seems quite a good deal, 3% for 3 months then between 0.5 and 1.5% depending how much you spend.

Mmm Im with Barclaycard and I heard somewhere that they will be offering cash back to their card ?? Anyone else heard this ??
Now this cash back, if I spend 2000 in a month, using my card, they give me back 1% or 2% = £20 ?? Do they just deduct this from the amount I owe, or literally send me a cheque ?

You get very good travel insurance, an excellent credit card, and extra 0.5% on your ISAs and your own proper account manager who you can call at any time (they give you their mobile numbers!) - Various other benefits too.
Highly recommended - to get it free (I'd NEVER pay extra for a bank service!) you need:
£50k in the bank.
A £200k mortgage with HSBC.
A reasonable salary (can't remember what)!
