Default Why has my dishwasher..........

............suddenly started leaving a white film over glasses etc?

It's a four year old AEG, electronic control model, and up to last week it's been perfect.

I haven't changed the powder, and it has plenty of salt. The only thing I have changed is that I refilled the Rinse-Aid with some cheap ASDA stuff I found in my dad's cupboard when we cleared his house.

My user manual trouble shooting guide advised me to turn the rinse aid DOWN, which I have done once, from 3 to 2, but it seems not to have made any difference. I've sert it on 1 for the next wash cycle.

I DON'T use these 3-in-1, or 4-in-1 tablets, as I prefer to dose with salt and rinse aid according to the hardness of the water. So far, it's worked perfectly.

What does anyone think has gone wrong now?

Similar problem when I started to use the 3-in-1 type tablets that already contained salt / rinse aid etc. As the salt / rinse aid ran out I never refilled them and the problem seems to have cleared up.

the film is limescale (looks like an empty milk bottle?) - you are using salt, is it going down or is the level staying the same? You could try adjusting the usage rate. The other reason cud be that the regeneration unit has failed, but this is rare..

p.s. - noting to do with the rinse aid

It's the salt/power... defo needs a top up or u've over filled it & the last one is you need to be change the salt for a different make!!!

I had the same problem at one point & was told by my enginer....
