Default TomTom problems

I went to use my Tomtom 700 yesterday and it won't switch on. It was working fine the last time i used it but it is now dead as a dodo!

Anyone know if there are any common problems associated with this symptom or where you can send them to get them fixed?

Make sure its charged up, they soon go flat and reboot it. Use a straightend out paper clip etc and insert in the reset slot which is underneath where the tom tom mounts on its cradle.

I've already tried charging. The green light comes on indicating it's charging but still nothing. I will try the reset later but will it do anything it if won't switch on?

Yup, I've had that on my 500 - won't turn on (also won't turn completely off as well) - Most problems, as shep ppp says, can be sorted with the paperclip in the reset hole trick.

Good luck...

dont forget to leave it plugged in when resetting. my 700 has done it many times in the year i have had it.

most annoying time was at the ring when it packed up on the way home. luckily we had a map.

no they should still be saved and it will just load up from the last setting where it worked without a problem.

i did an update on mine once from tomtom home and lost the lot. just as well i backed it up before hand.

always keep it backed up on your computer just in case.
