Cycling routes
Been interested in riding some of the sustrans routes but I don't really know anything about them.
Anyone been on any?
What they like and what sort of people were there i.e. skill level/age/groups, families, single/gender etc
Also if you know anywhere that I can get copies of the maps to load onto a sat nav I'd be interested as well

Hi,
I've done 3 trips so far, C2C, Pymouth to Bristol and the PCW (Derby to Berwick).
For more info go to Challenge 2007 where there's loads of pics and also a detailed diary of the C2C 2005.
A lot depends on how long you are planning to ride for, these took us 3, 4 & 5 days respectively.
We saw quite a few cyclists doing the C2C but hardly any doing the PCW which is quite new and a lot longer.
If you want someone to take your luggage from stop to stop then let me know and I'll dig out their details.
Paul.

Thanks Paul, sounds great. Gonna start with some easier routes first but like the sound of the C2C and the North-South Devon as well.
I think our first will be the norfolk route as its an easy one and we can have a stop at the end and then cycle back to the start so we can just jump in the car without having to worry about transport.
Can you pm me the info about the luggage transfer please
Anyone else got any experiences???

I actually did the Norwich to Colchester section of one of the routes a few years back, which was a good ride, undulating without being too hilly.
The luggage transfer is only for the Northern rides as they are based up that way, but they did come down as far as Derby. Let me know if you still want details.

No in that case. I may remind you of this next summer though as we might have got a little more confident by then
So what sort of age group and ability were the majority on the routes you've been on?
