Racking up some miles on my Scoob commuting to work and dopwn to Bournemouth and want to get a cheap but fun and reliable run about. Has anyone here owned one of these Charade Gttis ? I've heard some great things about them and wanted to opinions of any previous owners.

A Good friend used to have one, They are getting a bit old now though to be reliable enough for my likes. If you don't mind spending every other weekend fixing it then they're a Pocket Rocket worth having

i used to have one of these as my first car, 988cc and a nice turbo on it used to fly.. i did a few mods on it, had the bbr chip, uprated drilled brakes etc, a sebring exhaust, lowered 35mm, dump valve to atmopshere, and tsw stealth alloys..
i sold it, but the bloke who purchased it from me was paying me off monthly, so I had the car after I had purchased my subaru - i remember the day when he finally paid off the last installment, and I drove it down to his house - i used to think it was a safe pocket rocket, but after driving the subaru, it felt very unsafe! was glad I got rid of it.
But dont get me wrong, i did like the car - it was my ideal first car u could say

i had one for 3 years
very reliable - mine only required 2 rear shocks in the three years.
need regular servicing! oil and filter every 3k miles!!!
very quick, Q car. but to be honest it's a bit of a young lads car (bit like a renault 5 turbo) - i loved it to bits but would, if choosing this size/cost of car again would go for something like a 16v golf.
but it was mighty good fun
