Default Anyone in the removals trade?

Or recently done a long distance move?

Looking for a very rough estimate to move THE CONTENTS of a two bed house from London to Edinburgh.
No packing, fully insured, standard contents stuff but no white goods.

As I said, just an idea, is it 500, 1500, 2500 kind of thing..?

Don't forget to tape the doors shut during the move otherwise they may swing open and cause havoc. Motorcyclists in particular could be at risk from errant opening doors.

I think you wood need a massive crane and a big truck to move a two bed house. Probably cost a fortune.

property is a lot cheaper in scotland, just pack your belongings and buy up there. the cost of digging out the foundations alone would be prohibitve

How many cubic metres?

You can work it out by saying up to 30 cubics would fill a 7.5 ton lorry

15mpg driving approx 400 miles would be about 27 gallons of fuel = £116 (x2 to get home) 2 people driving over 1 day should get them there, so 1 day to drive there, 1 day to unload, 1 day to drive back 6 x £100 = £600 for staff, £100 for wear and tear on lorry, expenses for 2 people and food= £150

Total = £1082 not including profit for the company so I would say £1500+ would be my guestimate!

I don't work in removal but have moved a lot, I would budget £1500 - £2000 and I am pretty sure you wo't be far off.
