Whatever happened to acid rain? is global warming another political con?
I remember being told about this at school back in the 90's , and that by 2010 we would all need protective suits as it would melt our skin . However despite global sulphur emissions higher than ever (partially down to China building 2 coal fired power plants a week).
However petrol prices from 1986-1991 rose only 1 p a litre. Yet from 1991 -1995 fuel taxes rose and average petrol prices rose 10p a litre to 50.5p a litre( coinciding with the Tories attempt to scramble out of recession)
Is it just me or does the current "global warming" campaign, and green taxes to save our world seem like deja vu here? after all my skin does not seem to be melting from Acid rain

I believe in the 1970's there were concerns over the risks of Global Cooling... Then in the 1980's we had Acid Rain and CFC's... Neither get mentioned anymore...
In the 1940's governments said carrotts helped you see in the dark and lots of salt and tobacco where good for you in the 30's...
Quite bad really...

Global Warming is the current 'thing' they use to tax us and implement change. 10 years from now it'll be something different because global warming cash-cow will not be paying out so willingly. This is why I believe 100% that GW is total bull. (or rather mans roll in it)

Lets not forget the Ozone layer fiasco - as fast as it appeared it shrunk and disappeared. We were doomed to a painful death from radiation sickness until that one quietly went on the back burner.

Bored at work so Google found me this article. It seems fairly old but it does bring things into perspective. I haven't seen CFCs and Global warming written about in such a way that manages to explain things in school physics terms before. Go read totse.com | Debunking myths about the ozone hole and greenhous
Doesn't seem much to argue about there ....
I never bothered to read the rest of the site as I do have some things to do here ...
Enjoy!

Wouldn't have anything to with the fact that CFCs were the problem, their use was stopped and the ozone layer recovered perchance?
