I fly out of Brum fortnightly.

I can say that as an airport its is badly run (especially Swissport). I have written several letters to the managment pointing out my concerns...onto deaf ears may I add. This was 2 years ago....


So far, it has only showed the imcompetence and negligence of staff.

What it doesn't show (as of yet) is that the staff could easily be infiltrated by terrorists. This is of major concern especially as many of the workforce at BHX currently are of ethnic races...terrorist sleeper agents could already be there working and waiting for the nod to let this person or case through security...scary

The fact they have a journalist in there filming proves how the place can be infiltrated. Thankfully this is a step in aid to help address this airports poor state of affairs.

They are may be ethnic but they are all a bunch of slackers with the British work ethic, probably all paid a ridiculously small amount of money per hour and they all don't really give a ****.

Only way to fix it is to improve the systems and try to remove as many humans as possible, as well as improving redundancy.

Gatty, I *know* what your concern is, Far be it for me to defend these 'idiots' we see on the tv but if there is a culture that allows them to sleep on the job, to slack off , then surely its THAT that needs addressing first? then if necessary, get new/different staff in?

I should also add that blame of these workers lays squarely at the feet of airport and contractor MANAGEMENT.

They have severly cut corners, They have not vetted staff properly, spread them too thinly and through its own ignorance has allowed/forced bad conduct and practice to become rife.

Contracts should be terminated, and heads should roll. But that won't happen....too many backdoor bungs

It's all about maximising profit and to hell with everything else ain't it. You know the saying pay peanuts and you get monkeys. I haven't seen the programme but as has already been said proper staff should be employed.

But this sort of thing is so endemic in Britain, everything is just sub-contracted out, often to the cheapest bidder, who then has to employ the cheap staff, cut corners and not really have any accountability, certainly no responsibility. More often than not they are run by wideboys anyway.

glad we can all agree then but you know me i see the fact that there all asians and say no more, awaiting infraction.

i would terminate the contract with icts or what ever there called as of now and employ a bunch of babboons to improve the service

There are certainly a lot of undesirable types within the Asian community but surely that applies to all communities. It's the few that give the majority a bad name. If law and order was properly implemented and the needs of the electorate put ahead of anything else, then things would change.
