Question F1 Pit crew mock up

I am sure in a vague moment that somebody, somewhere does a corporate event style thing which involves changing the wheels on a mocked up F1 car.

Is this true or was I dreaming.

Any links would be appreciated. PM me if necessary.

Also, any F1 or car racing style corporate event activities (not going to F1 to be clear), or F1 corporate speakers that anyone has seen would be great

TIA

I have seen these mock ups at F1 events, such as the races themselves

Ferrari used to do it a few years ago at the races, where the general public could 'come and have a go' in a timed event changing wheels on chassis's on stands

Other than that I'm not aware of any others

i think there was a michelin one at the motor show at excel last year. give them a call and see if they'll sell it - they certainly don't NEED it now...

This was part of the corporate day i attended at Silverstone, along with Quad Biking, Rally Driving and Skid Pan time trials.

Because it's Silverstone -

Checking the site, it would seem that the corp day has changed somewhat.

Just my opinion, but why on earth would anyone want to do this out of choice? Seeing how quick you can change wheels on a car

Think I'd rather stick to the paintballing/Go-karting type stuff

Williams had a 'F1' car at Canary Wharf a few years ago doing this.

And no, our team didn't set the fastest time

what undoing one nut? and swapping a wheel, its bloody easy if the cars on jacks

the hard bit is unloading all the crap from the boot to get to the spare wheel, then finding that the jacking point is fubarred, and the local trainee from the cheapo tyre place has gunned the studs upto 7000000Nm
