Default Finally Emigrating…

I have serious issues with this country and have followed up by taking the decision to withdraw my labour and relocate to Hong Kong. I'm joining all the others who have emigrated.

Feel it really is time for me to seek out my own better life and prospects. I couldn't bear the thought of living in the aftermath of all the 'gone wrong' experiments and projects, whilst indirectly paying for more under the watchful eye of this poor excuse for a democracy.

My car has been sold – very sad to see it go. However, I will look to get back behind the wheel of an Impreza out there soon.

Wanted to say good bye and best of luck to those of you that remain. There are some things I will miss about this place.

Fair play to you fella

My youngest bro and wife moved to Menorca about 4 years ago.... and neither of them want to come back. He doesn't earn as much money as he could back here but it's the quality of life that is so much better

Tis great for boozy weekends in the sun also

Good luck

I feel more or less the same way and will be emigrating to Canada as soon as we sell the house , Just been out there on a research trip and quite honestly it puts this country to shame , In 2 weeks we never heard one swear word in public , not one road rage incident, everybody sticks to speed limits, no tailgaiting , all teenagers are very well behaved, and everyone as the time of day for you and greet you with a "Welcome to Canada "

Sad to say but I can't honestly think what I would miss about the UK.

Has the job market improved out there now? Used to be impossible to get work a few years ago..

Depends what your after ?

There are jobs advertised everywhere (Calgary an Edmonton )mainly shop work , but I know they are crying out for skilled workers especially in Alberta

We hope to move to Okotoks just south of Calgary and an hour from the Rockies , we fell in love with the place soon as we got there , so chilled out ,the pace of life is so much slower than here and confrontation is avoided at all costs .

Its the place for me

My dad worked in Calgary for nearly 2 years - I think if it wasn't for the grand kids he and my mum would have moved there

id love to emigrate too. im only 22 but sick of this sub standard of life. i would move in a whim but for one problem... employment.

i "only" work in a warehouse, and although good money, doesnt really stand me in good stead for career prospects out there. people know i can draw and i have college qualifications, but that doesnt seem to be enough.

I can never see myself settling down in this country, in fact I honestly can never see me affording a property at this rate, unless I want a shoe box for £100k... no thanks!

Thinking about emigrating in the next few years myself, loved Australia so that looks like an option, Canada I've never been too but would like to spend time there to see if it could be the right place for me to live...

I dont understand people that want to move to places but have never been to them, how can they do that???

Im going over on the Provincial Nominee Program
Basically the company offer you a job then you go over on temporary work permit, then apply for permanent residency after 12 months .

Its actually far quicker than doing the Skilled worker program (can take up to 4 years)

Plus the company I have the job offer from actually paid me $1500 to cover some of the cost from the research trip .

If we had a Chinese work ethic in this country things might a bit different. Best of luck.
