Westminster to tow a vandalised car...
#1
There is a Ford Escort parked in Westminster that was vandalised over last weekend. It has had all glass except the windscreen smashed, had the bonnet levered open (loads of damage), and had a the dashboard and drivers seat set on fire. It has also had the tax disc and parking permit stolen. Even an idiot could tell it has been vandalised and not dumped. The steering lock is still in place for crying out loud!!! It has also been parked in the area legally for the last year.
Nevertheless, the ever watchful, bonus motivated, jobsworths that are Westminster contracted parking attendants have seen fit to give the car several tickets. This morning it had a "Ready for towing" sticker on it.
How about reporting it to the Police so the owner could be contacted! Can't be that difficult. The guy is probably on holiday though and will have a nice suprise for him when he gets back. A vandalised car (definitely insurance right off) and hefty parking fines, towing charges and to top it all, storage charges. All because he had the audicity to park legally and be away when some toerag decides to smash his car up.
Westminster, the second most expensive place in the country to live (hence probably the second richest council) and they still feel the need to employ over-zealous parking wardens to raise a bit of extra cash. Bar-stewards!

Damn right mate - the police are oh so hot on keeping an eye on our cars when they are doing a shade over the speed limit, but when it comes to protecting our interests and not just making a quick buck, game over.
Speed cameras sprung up all over when they could be used to increase revenue - how about organising things so that reducing crime increases revenue too.
Must stop - turning into a thread hijacking rant!!
