Default Painting plastic trunking ??

As part off my recent plasma installation had to run a length off plastic trunking up the wall to hide the various scart cables etc, want to paint this trunking the same colour as the wall ( cream colour ) it is attached too.

any tips for applying emulsion to plastic ?? will it take okay or is there something I will have to apply to the plastic first ??

cheers,
john

Could lightly rub down the plastic with some fine sandpaper so the paint will stick better.

To make it more durable you can buy some stuff from B&Q to go ontop of emulsion called "radiator clearcoat" which will make it more durable to knocks and bumps, with affecting the colour shading too much. I suppose its just an eggshell/satin varnish, but I already had that on the shelf in the garage and I knew it worked

No need to rub down, plastic trunking is easily covered by emulsion

I have some exterior trunking which was standard white but needed to go next to a black drain downpipe. I got some black car spray paint and on a windless day just sprayed it on before fixing. 2 years on and it's still nice and black. Not sure if you could get a car colour to match?? dl

Paint sticks well to it, and doesn't readily come off unless you disturb it, like taking the top off the trunking.
