Find your local club and go there. Most are friendly and will let you have a look at what they use. In addition, you will almost certainly find someone wanting to sell something second hand.
All are different, I bought mine before going to a club, and although its good. It would not be the one that I would have chosen had I tried others out first.
Imo, a good PCP .177 would be my choice. I went for .22 and it has a much more noticeable trajectory curve due to having a heavier pellet, but being restricted to the same power as a .177

For your information these are soon to be banned under a parliamentary bill. And about time too, I once had the windscreen on my MG Metro shot out by a twit with an airgun whilst travelling on the A46
They are dangerous weapons and need to banned

Yeah right!! Like the supposed ban on archery equipment too.
any rifle /weapon is not dangerous, its the person holding it is.
Now stop scaremongering Pete and go back under the rock you came from.

Or you could just move to Texas, and legally own and carry pretty much any type of firearm you please. A guy I met a few weeks ago at work asked if I liked to shoot carbines..... I told him I'd never fired an automatic carbine before, I'm still getting to grips with pistols. He is now determined to take me to the shooting range so I can fire his AK-47 and M4 carbine..... Avoiding contact with the nut at all costs now!
(and no jokes about unloading his weapon for him!!! )

I think you need to look in the mirror at yourself. You clearly are a very insecure person who needs fuel to get by in everyday life. Please take a chill pill and accept yourself. I know it is hard being a pariah but you can become civilised if you try. I can understand your plight. I know a lot of people who were bullied at school and when they grew up took it out on society But you can overcome this I promise you

IIRC anything above 6 ft.lb is classed as an FAC pistol i.e. banned in this country apart from a few exceptions for vets etc. 5 year stretch for it as well.

the power on the american classic is variable, 10 pumps usually is close to 6ft/lbs, more and you get more ft/lbs but only with modifications. brilliant pistol but a pain pumping it.

I used to have a Webley Vulcan as a teenager.
Sold it to someone as a present for their younger brother when I was 17 as I needed petrol money for college.
Still regret it though.
Im sure the nanny state will be along to ban slighshots and rubber bands next.
they the will be glueing all stones to the floor to stop the 0.0001% of fatal incidents involving them.
Grow up or shut up!

I have got a couple of very old BSA's which used to be my Dad's. 0.177 and 0.22. They both still work perfectly. I would like to know how old they actually are for interest.
