Default Grand designs

Been on two mins.

On stilts, oak frame, straw bale walls, timber cladding, 800yo oak tree staircase, designed to be built by one man and a tractor.

Should be a laugh!!

Seems to know what he's doing. Some very good ideas in there. I wish I had 6 acres to play with. How many do you have?

Nice relevant comment. Thanks.

It's about ***** building houses, not a playground peeing contest about acreage.

Hang round a while, it happens very week.

It's like an anti-tardis though, those straw bales certainly eat into the interior space. Huge on the outside, but only smallish looking bedrooms, and no loftspace or garage.

how green can we go if it takes 6 acres to support a family of three, and you have to build your own house

Did the house finish OK?
I switched off after I saw he was moving house with a 6 foot trailer.
How many trips did that take? A real tree hugger would see the efficiencies in a single trip with a bigger truck, he did that for affectation.
I stand by my original diagnosis.

Fair play to him.
I personally didn't like the turret. And to be honest it had too many styles going on. A little messy I thought.
But a good achievement on his own, well nearly
