Default Is this a hands free kit?

Apologies, but no pics for now - will add tomorrow.

Picked up new car from dealer (06 Focus) with some sort of phone kit installed. There is a small mic by the drivers head and a small black box, about 2.5" square, 3/8" deep. It has 2 black wires going to it and is stuck to the dash, drivers side close to the screen. It says "sky side " on the top.

Ive tried 2 phones looking for a bluetooth hookup but nothing?

Any ideas what this is? Car dealer cant help!

Cheers,

Matt.

The black box looks like a gps receiver, the fact it says sky side would pretty much confirms this.

Some car phone kits have gps built in so you can use sat nav on your phone. If you have a bluetooth phone do a search for devices (with your ignition switched on) and see if it picks anything up. There should be some sort of controller too so see if you can spot anything else out of the ordinary.

Possibly it's missing the phone cradle that was wired up. You'd need to look at the cabling, possibly some end of cables behind dash by glovebox where most people have their phone cradle.

This may have had smartnav Satellite Navigation and In Car Sat Nav from Smartnav installed at some time. on that you press a button speak to an operator via the mobile network, they then send directions to the car and the GPS does the rest.

Is there any sign of a button with TM on it? or where a blanking plate has been replaced?
