Theiving banks
Just got home and got a letter from my bank to say that a cheque I paid in has been returned unpaid, and has been re-credited back to my account !!!!
How can they recredit my account as I didnt write the cheque I paid a cheque in
Anyway they have told me they have charged me for this 6 quid, how the hell can they justify charging me 6 quid for a cheque that I have no control over
Robbing thieving bas**rds, oh and they charge 30 quid for bank transfer to germany too, no matter how large or small the amount
I phoned them today and they couldnt explain what had gone on with my account
Annoyed

Well they just told me that the person who wrote me the cheque will have been charged 35 quid, so all in all the bank makes 41 quid, it does not cost that much money in admin fees to return and represent a bounced cheque !!

bank charges are being looked into at the moment i think, there will be some sort of rules to stick to, it basicaly costs them about 1 quid to do this sort of stuff!!

we get quite a few bounced cheques we now charge a £2.50 admin fee if you want to pay by cheque
when we get a bounced cheque we get charged £30 then the customer gets charged £30 so then we claim the charge off the customer as its only fair.

I really got socked with a bounced cheque a while ago - one going in one going out
The bank lost the one to go in but cleared the one going out - £30 for overdrawn
'Returned' the check - £30
Resent without consulting me - same again £60
Didn't know they could do that
Had fun claiming that back
