Tax a car if you're not the registered keeper
Is it possible to tax a car if you are not the registered keeper yet? Current owner is abroad and I am the legal owner and will have insurance and MOT.
Can I just fill out the tax application form at the Post Office rather than wait to get my mitts on the reg document?

moonloops it a bit of a gray area, if you don't have the v11 then you won't be able to do it at the post office, and if your not the registered keeper you "shouldn't" be able to tax it, not say you won't just depends on how eagle eyed they are in the post office. if you don't have the v11 the dvla local office might be able to do it for you and change the keepers over at the same time. hope that's of some help
