my sister has just got the same deal as well.

The xl tv package comes without sky1, sky sports and sky movies from what I can see. The list of channels it comes with you'd never watch.

Paul - if you're interested mate, we get:
2 TV boxes with everything - XL channels, plus Sky Sports and Sky movies (on both boxes, but both SD boxes, not the V+ ones)
2 meg broad band (speed increases are taking this to 4 meg in a month or so)
Phone Line with free 24/7 local and national calls.
57 quid a month.
Only thing we'd have pay on top is mobile phone calls, but we never use the land line for this.

They offered me an upgrade to the basic package (£20 p/m) so i would get all the channels for an extra £10 making my payment £30 p/m.
First DD to go through was £40. I had had enough of being mr Nicey Nicey when phoning places and complaining so i kicked off royally.
Lol, poor bloke didnt know what had hit him.
They apologised profusely and offered me my current deal.
Happy days!

The idiot works for them (installer monkey). This makes him an authority on all things SKY related. I even remember him bragging about how he gets preferential treatment with customer service over paying customers as he is 'on the inside'. Something I am sure his employer will be so pleased to learn he is bragging about

i must be the poor bastid getting royally shafted then....
currently paying 43.50 a month for sky. not fussed as its regular as clockwork and never really have any issues. but, on top of that im paying 11.50 a month for line rental on bt and another 30 for frigging broadband that is and has been for 5 weeks running at 1/10 of its supposed speed.
im weighing up my options about keeping sky and the landline for movies prem + etc, and looking at getting vergin media broadband for £10 a month for the same connection speed as bt.
i cant wait for the day when i ring up bt to cancel my broadband, and get through to an indian called "john smith" who then tries his/her best to persuade me otherwise. im gonna have sooo much fun on the blower
"but sir we appreciate your problem"
"good then get ****ed"
"but what if we offer you a discount for your troubles"
"what if you pish off and leave me alone, my desicion is made"
"have you got 5 minutes to take part in a survey on customer satisfaction"
"have you got 5 months to listen and note down my replies"
ah... i can see it now
