Question Calling The Intelligence of SN

If in a Space Ship, travelling at the speed of light, how long would it take you to reach the Sun if you started on Earth?

That's one of my pet hates. People who think that a Light Year is a measure of time.

E=mc² To travel at the speed of light the spaceship would become infinitely massive and therefore would require an infinite amount of energy to move, so would actually be stationary

Speed of light "The laws of relativity show that the closer you get to moving at the speed of light, the shorter and heavier you become, and so the more energy you need to maintain your speed (and even more to keep getting faster). At the speed of light you have infinite mass and so need infinite energy to be going that fast."

Earth - Sun = 93m miles / 186000 miles/sec = 8.33 minutes

8 minutes and 18 seconds has it then

Would the Scooby suffer from Det as it got nearer, do you think? And, would fuel surge affect it whilst in orbit? What about Heat Soak?

Wonder if a VTA dump valve would increase the performance of the scooby-spaceship...?

Nearly

Your maths is correct but I think you mean 186,000 for the speed of light

Very good ...................... would it be as useful as the Official CockLink? Would the Chavvie Venus teenage girls find them as appealing as here on earth??

Correct, I was in such a rush to head off for dinner I messed my maths up and did miles per hour not per second. so I was about right with the figures.

It depends on your point of reference. If you were on the spaceship, surely it would take no time at all if you look at the effects of time dilation.

Or an infinite amount of time. I think.

I dunno. Another sign of SN going to the dogs. First too many non-scooby owners and now someone trying to mainpulate concepts of general relativity within a Newtonian paradigm. I'm disgusted, frankly.

I did like the Spocklink gag though.
