Doctors 24 hour on call - do you still have a ocal surgery open?
Just called the out of hours doctors number as youngest needs to see a dr and went through everything and was told yes he needs to be seen then to be told all dr's surgeries are now closed over weekends and all appointments are at the local hospital now! WTF? Since when did this happen? More cuts on the NHS by good old Labour.
It wouldn't be such a problem apart from the fact our local hospital has been in the news all week saying don't go there because it has the winter vomiting virus.
Edited out the grumpy waffle caused by lack of sleep

Not sure where you live however my experience over the past eighteen months (having babies certainly tests the medical infrastructure) has included
- midwife call out available 24 hours
- call out doctor coming to the house - available 24x7 but only if you can't get to
- local 'walk-in' centre - which can be a bit busy, but if you phone ahead you get seen within ten minutes of arriving as you get queueing priority
- good service from the local A&E
I feel sorry for you given you circumstances - I hope you get it sorted out.
I think that Local Health Authorities and Trusts now need to combine to provide an integrated service so you are at the mercy of local management capability.

Well we certainly haven't had care as good as that recently. Last time I called them my son had a temp of 104 and was really unwell with that high a fever and they refused to come out to him even when I said he wasn't well enough to go outside. Our doctors service basically refuse to do visits unless someone is on their death bed
