.
.
.
Wait for it
.
.
.

.
.
£133,500,000
So that's £3,034,090.90 per house £3 million houses. Who the fek lives there? Prescott?
Wonder where the rest of the funds could POSSIBLY have gone..........

Current Status
Miller homes are well advanced in building 193 homes at Allerton Bywater with the first residents moving in before Christmas 2006.The development includes a range of traditionally built houses arranged around a homezone. Thirty-nine affordable homes for shared ownership through The Home Housing Group, a local housing association, are included in the build programme. A number of homes for disabled and elderly people will also be included.
Fleming Fusion are completing the building of 23 homes using modern methods of construction. These houses are constructed using an off site manufacturing process to both control costs and to raise quality. The type of homes they intend to build was on display at the Delivering Sustainable Communities Summit 2005.
Barratt Developments, a winner of the Design for Manufacture competition have started building 151 homes on a 3.2 ha plot at the Millennium Community. The Design for Manufacture Competition was launched on 1 April 2005, when the Government announced the start of a competition to demonstrate that it is possible to build a good-quality home for a construction cost of £60,000. As a minimum, all homes must follow the principles of the Urban Design Compendium published by English Partnerships and the Housing Corporation in 2000.
Future phases are currently being worked up and will be brought to market individually.
Housed currently from £151k, so hardly exclusive.
The existing Allerton Bywater look pretty nice, though it 's very close to Castleford (bet the brochures don't mention that)

So, Alcazar was talking RUBBISH?? The usual then
Most of the cost has gone on the 'clean-up' ..... this will be spread amongst the house numbers as they are built.
Using Alcazar's mind for one second, after the first house was built he would proudly proclaim that it cost £133,500,000 to build - which shows what happens when you only have 2 brain cells to operate ...... you need them both, one of his was clearly concentrating on eating his breakfast at the time
Oh, yes, and lets blame Labour for it whilst one of the brain cells is occupied on other tasks

It HAS cost £133.5 million SO FAR, and it can't possibly be the clean-up: the ex- factory site at Barton-on-Humber, VERY heavily polluted and in fact, so heavily, it was sold for £1 to anyone who would/could clean it up, cost around 1/4 that for the clean-up, and is now a nature reserve with buildings for school/study groups etc.
Anyone who tells you the money has been spent on cleaning up the site is a labour liar. Or a thief. Or both.
